Routine tickets closed in minutes. Hard ones reach an agent already drafted.

AI support ticket automation that works inside Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom or ServiceNow. It tags, prioritises and routes every ticket, resolves the repeatable ones from your knowledge base and order data, and drafts replies for agents to approve.

What is AI support ticket automation?

AI support ticket automation is software that reads each incoming support ticket, classifies its intent, urgency and sentiment, then either resolves it using your knowledge base and back-office systems or routes it to the right agent with a drafted reply. It outputs tags, priority, routing decisions, sent resolutions and agent-ready drafts inside your existing help desk.

The cost of a manual queue

Your best agents spend the day answering the same five questions.

Tickets arrive untagged, sit in a general queue and get picked by whoever is free. Order status, password resets and address changes eat hours, while the urgent billing error waits behind them.

An AI assistant raised issues resolved per hour by 14% across 5,179 support agents in an NBER study.[1]

Newer agents gained 34% in the same study, with little change for the most experienced.[1]

91% of service leaders report executive pressure to implement AI in a Gartner survey of 321 leaders.[2]

Gartner predicts agentic AI will resolve 80% of common service issues without human intervention by 2029.[3]

What we deploy

Three layers, switched on one intent at a time.

Inputs · email, chat, web form

Triage on every ticket

Each ticket is classified the moment it arrives, using intents trained on your own historic tickets rather than a generic list.

  • Intent, product, language, urgency and sentiment tags
  • Priority and SLA set by rule plus model
  • Routing to queues and skills groups in your help desk
Resolution · connected systems

Auto-resolution for repeatable intents

For intents you approve, the AI looks up the answer in live systems and replies, with guardrails on what it may change.

  • Order and delivery status from Shopify, NetSuite or carrier APIs
  • Password resets, address edits, plan changes within policy
  • Answers grounded in your knowledge base with citations
Copilot · inside the agent view

Drafts and summaries for the rest

Complex tickets reach an agent with the context gathered and a reply drafted in your tone.

  • Thread summary and customer history in one panel
  • Suggested reply and macro, edited then sent by the agent
  • Refunds and exceptions always need a human click
The 21-day production pilot

Live on real tickets in three weeks, measured on one number.

Days 1–3

Mine your ticket history

We cluster 6–12 months of tickets into intents, size each one and agree the metric, usually auto-resolution rate or first response time.

Days 4–9

Connect the help desk and systems

API access to Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom or ServiceNow plus the order, billing or identity systems each intent needs.

Days 10–15

Shadow mode

The AI tags and drafts on live tickets without sending. Team leads score accuracy and we fix the misses.

Days 16–21

Switch on the safe intents

The top three to five intents go live with auto-send. Everything else stays in copilot mode. We report against the agreed metric.

Why it matters now

Service leaders are being asked for AI results this year.

The evidence says AI helps agents most when it is grounded in real data and kept under human control, not when it replaces the team overnight.

  • Automate intents, not whole queues
  • Shadow before you send
  • Keep a human on money and exceptions
  • Measure resolution, not deflection

Questions buyers ask

AI support ticket automation: frequently asked questions

How accurate is AI ticket triage?

AI ticket triage is typically accurate enough to route automatically once it is trained on your own historic tickets and checked in shadow mode. We measure intent and priority accuracy on live tickets for about a week before anything is routed or sent, and only switch on intents that meet the threshold your team lead agrees.

Does AI support ticket automation work with Zendesk and Freshdesk?

Yes. AI support ticket automation from Stratgik connects through the official APIs of Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom and ServiceNow. Tags, priorities, routing, internal notes and drafts appear inside the tools your agents already use. Nothing requires a new agent interface, and you keep your existing help desk licences and reporting.

Is AI ticket automation better than a chatbot?

A chatbot answers customers in one channel; ticket automation works on the whole queue. It triages every email, form and chat, performs actions in your order or billing systems, and helps agents on tickets it cannot finish. Many teams keep a chatbot for simple questions and add ticket automation for everything that reaches the help desk.

Will the AI send wrong answers to customers?

It can make mistakes, which is why auto-send is switched on per intent, only after shadow-mode testing. Answers are grounded in your knowledge base and live system data, low-confidence tickets go to an agent, and refunds, cancellations and policy exceptions always need human approval. Every automated reply is logged and sampled for QA.

How much does AI customer support automation cost?

A Stratgik pilot costs $12,000 for 21 days, covering triage on all tickets and auto-resolution for up to five intents on one help desk. Production runs at $3,000 a month. Model and cloud usage is billed at cost. There are no per-resolution fees, so cost does not rise every time the AI does its job.

How long does it take to implement AI support ticket automation?

Implementing AI support ticket automation takes about three weeks for the first intents. Days 1–9 cover ticket analysis and system connections, days 10–15 run in shadow mode, and the safest intents go live in the final week. New intents can then be added each month without another project.
